My first year in college has come to a bitter sweet end. My time here is already flying by faster than I thought it would. None the less, I have begun making strides towards my goals!

I am proud to announce my membership in the AMSA organization! This is an excellent national organization with a chapter at A&M that focuses on preparing students for medical school, shadowing, discussions on developments in medicine, and selfless service in volunteering - just to name a few.

What I Have Done

Leadership

Sophomore Advisor

Honors Living Learning Community

My new position as an 'SA' will allow me to help the next year of freshman transition to their new found independence and responsibilities. Within my first week at school, my home and town were destroyed in Hurricane Harvey. My SA did a lot to help me get through the difficult time and I was able to be successful despite my challenges. I am honored to now be in a position to help others in a similar way.

It's All Connected

AMSA has obvious advantages in introducing students to the medical field and getting them the experience they need before medical school. But being an SA has benefits for a future medical professional as well. Being in this leadership position will help strengthen my interpersonal skills, confidence in leading/advising others, and in communication. I am excited to see how these opportunities aid my growth.
